DC - The Pocket

Drawing challenge this weekend is The Pocket...

Here is my pocket! Me too!
Our Spanish house keys hanging from within... We are going home...

And having now left the house in Wales we called home, we are in slow transit to Spain, we arrived in Cardiff late afternoon yesterday, after a whirlwind of a day, trip to dump, trip to doctors, trip to town and trip to railway station!! Thanks to good friends and family we made the final step... In our hotel room now, after being around the shops for six hours!! Heck!!! Walked each and every one of the many arcades...

So many lovely indepentant shops, bars and restaurants, my feet are sore though, I have walked about ten miles a day for the last week, with all the moving and cleaning and clearing...

Last night it did feel strange, sort of like we really should be getting back to Briton Ferry! And to Pippa!! Who, coincidentally, walked off down the path with the pet transport peeps without a backwards glance, I can only hope, she presumed we were behind her, until at the van she turned and saw we were not!

And now Pippa is making faster progress than us forsure; already in France, and probably comfy in pet friendly residence as I write!

I travelled across country to see Tony and Kate Saturday morning, Tony drove us to Bedford, not been there for donkeys years... We had a drink and then left! In the evening we went to a local eatery, having first course there, then ice cream from next door!

Oh yeah baby! I had blue bubblegum and blackcurrant combo! Yum yum!!! It was gorgeous and I am very glad I don't live nearby!

I should add I guess that I drove in a rental to see my boys... And therefore it was Sunday morning I then headed north on the M1 which was stuck like an old record?!? on 50mph for what seemed like most of the journey!

Spent a lovely day with them... Oh my beautiful greeneyed granddaughter... We went to a branch of Chiquitos... Not been there, well one of its like in Aylesbury since leaving to go to Spain last time!

I left them about 7pm and got back to the Ferry at nearly eleven... Long dark drive, the interior dash lights were too bright and cast a strange reflection on the drivers door window... The longer I drove the more mesmerising it became!!  Thing is the car needed to be back by 12:30 Monday, and I would have had to have left so early... Just seemed best thing to do... And used car for a trip to dump into the bargin!

Okay amigos... TTFN from Welsh Wales for the last time as a resident, in transit now...
See you on the flipside friends, time to travel once more, this chick gathers no moss!!

DC - Something from the Ocean

I am bringing to the table of our Drawing Challenge from Veronica this week of Something from the Ocean...  please visit her page for links to all challenged!

It is a wonderful view from a small peninsula just down from Cardiff a small seaside resort of Barry Island... slices of natures own rock formation...

As usual I feel I must do better next time!  Grimaces of school reports rattle through my mind and memories, no excuses except work and lots around the house, I will slap my own wrists, and see what else I can come up with, I did take my camera with me this week to Barry for the exact purpose of the DC....

Okay amigos, just had a play with a photo I took a few weeks ago down at Llansteffan, one of the jelly fish...

Now he really does look like an alien!

DC: Move

Drawing challenge this week is 'Move' thank you Katrin :-)

I was going to do stuff with this photo I caught of my son a few years ago, but I think to be honest it says it all! He was moving... and fast!! Avoiding my lens, just back from a run!

Alternatively it could have been packing boxes! Just before the men came to our house when we last moved, I took a very sad shot of the roomful of boxes!  I think I will delete that actually!

Do you remember when packing boxes were made of wood, and of course called crates!  Sharp around the metal edges, they weighed a tonne already! Splinters in hands and just too big!  Then suddenly they turned to cardboard, possible to purchase almost anywhere! And so very much easier to fill and carry in so many sizes for all needs!

I am rambling a bit today and feeling either too hot or too cold... I have had a part shift this morning, now back to relax, eat, relax... this and that, relax!!! Before back to work for afternoon/night shift, and tomorrow morning shift!  But I seem to be feeling a bit hyper, and my right eye is feeling really weird, its being effected by my cold thing, it hurts painfully when I cough and stuff and seems to be leaking... I must try that 'milk out through the eye' trick, I actually think I might be able to do that now!!  Too much information? Sorry amigos! Your probably right!!

The Key

I have a sad heart... my vinyl album collection of 60 items has just left the house... my growing years David Cassidy, the first NOW, Ginger Baker Gurvitz Army, Rainbow, Motown, Stevie Wonder, Pop Pop and more Pop!  A very random motley crew of albums, some were missing already... The theme tune to my life story, heart is pounding and eyes wet...

Books next, well started the other day of course, but having trouble letting go of some, and keep putting them on the wrong piles and have to start again, opening wounds and changing my mind, constantly!  Going to check out the few I have to put to one side, see if there is any point to on-line selling of said books, if not down the shop they'll go... I have taken out 'horror, shock, OMG'.... pages from some of the books, I have to keep named pages, why? ---- ---- ------ ----- --- fill in the blanks please, because I don't truly know myself why anymore...

And! Something new! A drawing challenge ready for today? Veronica's challenge! The Key... this whole week has been a key.... Key to locking old doors, Keys to opening new ones, Keys to clearing out and organizing what seems to be tangible actual items, but means I am clearing out and organizing thoughts and feelings too... huh!?! hahahahahaha!!! Who the hell do I think I'm kidding! Not me forsure...

So The Key... below a key! LOL.... picture adjusted slightly...

And within showing its true colors... Mmmmmm, meant to get a bottle of wine today and forgot!!! No work maƱana!  Although maybe not a great idea to add wine to the chocolate!! DeChoxed for March, (did I mention this before!!??)  beginning on the first day of Lent, ending yesterday, six weeks in total.... and after the huge amount of chocolate I have eaten since getting back from work at four yesterday afternoon, its wonder I don't have stomachache! [can't write that, or say it out loud without thinking of that episode of  'Everybody Loves Raymond' where he says stom-ach-ache by mistake!

See, hidden cork screw! Hic!

And above a beautiful combination, the watch is my oldest sons, my grandfathers, but the fob chain is mine for now, not sure weather to keep or pass on... sell in other words, its from India, the time of the British Raj... ..sterling silver and so beautiful, it looks nice as a bracelet, which is where it could continue its days upon my wrist!

Vein...Drawing Challenge

Very sudden decision to add myself to Veronica's  Drawing challenge of  'Vein' as the subject...

I actually made this photo art a month or so ago... using several different programs on my phone and lap top... The original item in this photo art is the white part... it was... believe it or not...

Actually.... I will also add the original photo I took!

It was a piece of pith!  And very vein-like in appearance don't you think...  It was from the satsuma orange I was eating at the time, which fell by itself onto my Kindle Fire on my lap... as you can see above!

And from there birthed a new piece of art...
