A different view of the lakes, not seen before by me! Just before we came out on a reservoir we knew well!!!! From a road not previously driven because we thought it out of bounds!!!

Not sure what I was taking here... above? But a pretty looking field of something or other eh!!!

Above and below more taken in Setenil de las Bodegas! When your sitting there looking at the mountain and the houses, it looks more like the mountains have moved over the houses, rather than the houses being built beneath the mountains!

I know I took the pic above before, but look how close the mountain is to the bedroom balcon above! A matter of what? Two or three foot at the most! I must admit, I wouldn't like to see that view from my window... Could feel a bit claustrophobic don't you think? Or depressing! I remember staying at a friends house in... Abertillery, Wales, and the mountains surrounding the houses were oppressive, seeming to lean down and over everyone... Although certainly not as close above!

And lastly, above, the castle at Olvera, one, for the second time I have been unable to get inside! I bet its not worth it! Is that it? There is a castle in England, I have always wanted to go inside, Bodiam Castle, E.Sussex. I have been as far as the car park a couple of times, but never inside, for one reason or another I cannot even remember now... One day I guess eh.... Have a look at the link, I think anyone would love to visit it!

Weather report - Bit cloudy today, but still warm, bordering on hot and muggy! No rain, although it looked imminent all day!

Work tomorrow, lost my glasses there last week, only need them for reading[!] So only put them on to do so, but wish I had kept them on, slipped out of my pocket... and into someone else's, [she thought they were a donation and took to try] luckily she is bringing them into the shop tomorrow, they didn't work for her! Surprise surprise... funny eh!!!! Had another pair on order, saw her an hour later, and got back on the phone to shop... so saved a couple of hundred pounds running into her, as just managed to cancel the order in time!!!

Went for a day out today.... Long long drive, we started out towards the lakes at Ardales, but decided to try another route once we reached the town. And took the Teba/Ronda turn to the left instead! Driving through beautiful patchwork mountains, as above photo...its amazing how different the landscape is only half hour drive from here! Fields of rape seed, wheat, poppies! and herds of beautiful brown cows! Also, the most pig farms in one area I have ever seen! Not a pig in sight though, all tucked up in doors - not so good, or the smell!!!

We stopped first at a road side venta, two coaches had just pulled up and we managed to skirt around them and get to the bar! Two coffees and bread with oil... A nearby pig farm supplying the many jamons surrounding bar I imagine!

We were headed actually now for the turn for Arriate... To get to Setenil de las bodegas, where we have been a couple of times before, but has always been too busy to appreciate the village! Both above pics are amazing, well the subject matter I mean! The one below may be a bit confusing[dot.com]... I took a photo of the ceiling above the bar where we stopped for coffee, actually I had a beer, don't know why, just fancied one! Sorry I digress, and per norm! So the pic below is the cave above, and the stone was covered in cobwebs!!! Also there mid photo and down towards the bottom, is a swallows nest, so many birds flying to and fro, and so fast, they swoop down towards the cars while driving, or people while walking, what a game they have!

I tried to take photos I didn't take last time, but different day and less people, so hope I haven't repeated myself! More than usual!

Lots more photos, so will post more tomorrow, hopefully, not been too busy on here of late have I!

While walking in Setenil past a shop, the owner opened the door and told us to go in, have a look around! We did, well we really had no choice! He told us all the plates were painted by hand, here in the town, well that would be good, it all was 20 years ago, but I think most of what you see on the markets these days is not Made In Spain any more!

We went from Setenil to Olvera, it was almost as hot as when Tony and I were there in June one year, well seemed it, although it could the amount of up hill walking you have to do to get anywhere whatsoever! But a very pretty town, we went first to the bar in a plaza, we had a coffee, then started up the mountain to the church, Tony and I were too hot and too tired to go further up to the castle, so thought we would go today.... No chance! it was 1:35 and about to shut at 2pm, definitely not long enough for that climb! And also, they shut the doors!!!! Well time for lunch for them then I guessed! On the way into town we needed petrol, and I remembered a gas station on the left hand side of the road, I know I had only been to Olvera once before, but I did, and it was...! Funny how I remember that but go to put the cereal into the refrigerator!!!!

So back down, took a couple of photos from a distance, back to the car and off again! We had passed a sign for Campillos, so went back to that junction, and took that route back towards Alhaurín, although, no where near it yet of course! And the journey took other turns well before we got back here!

We ended up coming down the road we had originally started from, my now famous road to the hospital! We were on the other hand nowhere near it, being still in the lakes vicinity! We had passed a turn and thought to turn back to it, so we did, and began a new journey around the lakes we had never taken before, getting a bit confused[dot.com], which is unlike me in this area! hahahaha!!! We were very confused actually, then ended up coming to a road we knew!?! I have spent years travelling around the lakes here, and still find a new bit!

phew... So from there, we were going to have a coffee at the Kiosk bar, but was busy, too busy, so off to El Choro, where else! And had a coffee there! Sat by the railway lines, watching the birds go by, well lots of dogs anyway! Apparently they are going to renew the whole of the Kings Walk, and the whole area around there, I suppose, that will be good, but so many times, in the making of something better, you lose some of the old, which was the reason it was good in the first place, the roads will be wider, the place tidied up, new this and new that, and soon, the 'thing' it had will be lost.... Its going to take about five years, so we have time yet to get the best from the way it is now! [does that make sense?]

I am not sure in what way the Kings Walk will be left, if people will all have to use the rope and tie thing, rock climbers equipment etc, or if it will be safe to just stroll around the narrow walkway, but we will never, I am sure, be able to get to the narrow bridge over the gorge we have taken before, in the way we did!!!!

Just watched a bit of Planet of the Apes, the old one, but, in my opinion[!], the best! The final words when Charlton Heston sees the Statue of Liberty... "oh my God, we finally did it! blah blah blah..." It was of course, only a surprise the first time I saw it, but still this bit is the best bit of the movie, the realisation of what has happened!

Its taken about two hours to do this Blog today, stopping for breaks... friend at the door, Pippa barking at passers by up at the back, coffee making, phone calls, oh washing up the dishes and washing my hair! Oh and send an Ecard!!!!

Ecard for friends who had a lovely BBQ on Saturday afternoon, beautiful food, wonderful surroundings and good people... Wasn't there long, and should have stayed longer... Thanks again amigos!

After not Blogging for a while my mouth seems to be running away with itself now, or my fingers over the keys anyway... So I better quit before everyone falls asleep!

More photos tomorrow amigos, adío!

Dixie Chicks, Lullaby

If you have a Mom in Heaven!¸¸.•*"Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ"*•.¸¸
If flowers grow in heaven Lord, then pick a bunch for me; place them in my Mom's arms and tell her they're from me.
Tell her that I love and miss her, and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while
Miss you still MOM ♥
Mothers day today in the states.... As Mom and I are American I guess now we can celebrate today...

Photo above one of my favourites of Mom and I in Cadiz, with Tony, holding the camera of course!

Beautiful weather today, just sun and sun and more sun... At last and wonderful, went to La Trocha market in Coín this morning, nice walk around and coffee with apple strudel... again! I am going to start to look like a piece of apple strudel soon!

Washing has dried on the line and I really should be bringing it in, or it will feel like cardboard... Though it probably already does!

We had a power cut this morning, about 8:30, and was out for a couple of hours, it went off again later, and once dinner was in the oven, it went off again! So had to shift some of dinner out of the electric counter oven into the gas oven!!!! We ate meals at different times therefore!

Missed the Grandprix too, no tv, and then the battery went on this, it only lasts less than half the amount of time it did when it was new... Wonder if this is normal??

Power went again, I think? Anyway was off most of day in the end, back now of course! Or I wouldn't be writing this now...

Can't seem to get house straight today, everywhere I go there is something that needs putting away, so am leaving it now and going to chuck it all out later... Hate it when there is stuff everywhere, can't get my head straight, like a tidy desk at work[when I was], can't work in a mess!

And I am so tired, not had afternoon nap for ages, and ages, but today just couldn't keep my eyes open any longer, not helped by the late night noise outside the house, the end of green week, lots of beautiful plants and decorations outside many of the houses in the area, so last evening everyone went to look, at all of them, taking a band and rockets with them, culminating in fireworks about 12:30am!!!! Then people were walking home from it! I had at one point switched off the tv, but turned it back on at tried again at 1am...

After last week.... What night? Can't remember! Oh yes, Tuesday night, end of celebrations in town, they ended with fireworks at 2am.... yes 2am, and were set off behind the house, Pippa hasn't gone any further than the row of houses we live in, and just round the corner... Then she pulls us home, this morning I didn't even bother trying, not so much for her this morning, was so tired!

Then had to do all my bathroom stuff in the dark, well with a tea light to see by... That was fun!!! What the heck did we do without electricity!?! I know I never actually have had to, but its the same when the phones aren't working isn't it!

Even when I know the electric isn't working I go to switch on a light, or the kettle etc, or think, "shall I watch a DVD then if the tv isn't working?"

What else? La Cala market yesterday, nice morning, sun out, had the roof down on the car on the way home which was wonderful! Stopped into garden centre on the way home for coffee![read tea]...

Loads of tourists at the market, good good good! I got a couple of new charms for my bracelet, a little Buddha and a monkey! One of the three wise monkeys that is!

Last week.... Oh heck forgot I had the hospital on Tuesday didn't I, and I was going to let you know the results... And not leave you waiting! Well, I am still waiting so there we go, what's new!

We were on time, well early, went in early too, Whoopee, he, the doctor asks me if I have my heart monitor results???? So, that was it really, he beat up my hip and its still in agony, wrote out a paper to send me elsewhere for that and told me to come back in the morning and to try to get my results and come back to see him ASAP...

... So we were back early Wednesday morning, and up to where I got the heart monitor before, I asked for the results, she printed them out, got them signed and gave them to me, the doctors assistant could have done that the day before, took two minutes!

Then to the appointments desk, lucky there too, but in getting to the desk only.... only two people ahead of me, not 102, so five minutes and up I went, told him the doctor wanted to see me ASAP as I now have the results he wanted yesterday, but 'he' said I had to have the other appointment first, then see the doctor, they will phone me, and my appointment with the doctor is June 7th!

I very stupidly translated what I could of the results and then Googled them! Big mistake, I now have all sorts of bad things and may not get to finish this post!!!

S'ok, still here...

Although going now, tired, and need to get in washing... I am posting a beautiful YouTube video on here, I heard this song last night, well this morning to be precise, on a tv program, Medium.... This song is so beautiful.... Enjoy.... Its Dixie Chicks and Lullaby...

Life begins and ends in a moment and life can change in a moment. All we have are moments.

Its been the longest time.... whoa oh oh... The longest time since I last blogged amigos!

Weather has been a mix of rain and sun! Tomorrow is the last day [apparently], then we have summer, but no one is holding their breath!

We have gone from the Semana Santa celebrations straight into Green Week, April 24th through to May 8th I think.... And its our church of course, the Santa Vera Cruz, so its noisy every evening, and last couple of days have each begun with rocket fire, 20 or 30 or more rockets, setting off the dogs, Pippa went for nearly 24hrs without taking a pee!!!! She refused to leave the house this morning for a walk, we got into the car park and turned right around and pulled me home! Yesterday morning we were out minding our own business when the rockets started and she pulled me home, I had to run she wouldn't walk, and was so terrified, my poor little baby.... Then last night right after her dinner, again they went off, and her dinner lasted inside her very nervous body about ten minutes, maybe! She refused to even go up on the terrace, and eventually went to the toilet this afternoon!!!! I was worried she would damage herself by not going for so long!

Last week we, me and two friends, went to Torremolinos for breakfast, a walk, back up into the town! Those steps, again, only I did them better this time, I should be running up them soon! I also popped into one of the Tobacconists I worked in! Said a quick "hello" well "hola" and besitos all round!

Then we went to Ikea, a friend wanted a frame, and he had been trying to get one elsewhere, he gave up! And although both have an almost morbid fear of Ikea, we went! Me, as you know, I love it there! I showed them immediately the quick way out! Well just in case one of them panicked! This being a real possibility! Then we had lunch! Meatballs of course for me! And coffee's.... Then we skipped the up stairs, they didn't know they could[????] and a quick run around the kitchen bits and short cuts to the frame, and out! The longest bit probably was the check out! But they lived to fight another day didn't they, and was quite pain free!

Been to La Trocha market last two Sundays, bit quiet there... Few marketeers missing, and lookers.... although I am maybe going quite early so possible filling up at a more normal time!

Oh and went to lunch with friends Thursday... What fun! At a road side bar I had never been to before... five of us.... The birthday boy ate something that gave him an immediate upset stomach... and a bad case of hic ups followed, and I mean bad, so bad, he was sick! Right there! At the table!!!!! The food only tasted of salt, the main course, apart from salt was literally swimming in yellow oil, as in over used, the fries were bottom of the frier condition... Passing cars caused dust and debris to fly over the wall around the terrace we were sat at! And 'things' fell from the tin ceiling, into food and eyes!!! [medical assistance needed for the eye!] I'll stop here, enough is enough, I'm really milking the thing now!

So, somewhere I have been now, that I hadn't and won't be revisiting again!

Oh oh, and of course the Royal Wedding! Friday, between William and Kate... I sat through the whole thing, watching every detail, I couldn't help myself, I loved it! And cried here and there, thinking of how Princess Diana would have been so proud of her oldest Son, and remembering Tony was born just a week from him... There was a present to those whose sons were born on the same day! But Tony was on time... So, no present, except the best present of course Tony, you!!! Sorry, still in soppy mood obviously!

I have the hospital tomorrow evening, results....

Won't leave it to Blog too long, I am sure everything is good to go!

Today this beautiful piece, taken from BloomingHumans... as before....

THE LONGING FOR UNION

There is a hunger, a longing, deep within your heart
And it has been there from the moment you were born
It is not this foolish longing for romance or money
It is not this hunger for success and recognition
It is not even a desire to be surrounded by beauty

The hunger that presses upon you so acutely
is simply the longing for you to reach again
the state of complete oneness,
to access your own soul, right here within you

For it has not left you, of course
It has not ventured away and gotten lost
in the forest of your life

It has merely been a bit covered over,
like an old garden wall that gets covered
in moss and brambles over time

But yet, this wall of a body still holds within it
the glorious garden of the soul

It still harbors that great and glorious blossoming
that is you

You, who are individual and unique and,
at the very same time, one with all that is.

You, who are this glorious body
vitally alive in this lifetime,
and at the very same time,
this soul that is ethereal and immortal, ever present

And so the longing then is for union
Union of all the different parts that are you
The part of you that is this body
and the part of you that is this soul

The part of you that is unique and the part of you
that is exactly one with all else that is
The part of you that is God

First, go within and find the union
Find the peace that is you
Find yourself deeply within
and deeply one with all that is

Then come back out and live
Live with vibrancy
Live with zest

Allow yourself to feel and enjoy everything
that this glorious life holds

Allow yourself to fall in love with every moment of it
Infuse this fabulous adventure of a life
with your own golden glow of being

You are, right now, what you need to be
You are, right now, the perfect expression
of all that needs expressing

From this place, right here, right now,
go deep inside and find yourself,
this self you will bring forth to shine out
Nothing else is needed

Here is a prayer for your today~
I am all that I need to be
I am enough, for peace, for joy, for love,
for happiness unbounded

It is all within me

And I, just as I am, deserve all of this bounty
I am the wonderful, glowing expression of life and spirit
I am the balance where it all meets
I am the gladness and the joy of all creation
made manifest

I am the flowering and the opening

I AM

~ Carrie Hart~

Above and beneath two shots taken in Malaga last week... What a beautiful day, the day, and the weather! Unlike today! What a mix of sun and rain and storms!!

A couple of hours ago the storm came over, from Alorá direction, thank you! The lightening and thunder! It was right overhead and when the electric went out there was a flash of electric from the box on the wall!

Went up onto the terrace to get closer!!! Risked taking the para agua! It was amazing from up there, under cover of the tin roof!!!! You couldn't see the town at all, or any of the Guadalhorce valley! It was just cloud! And above fork lightening and then the crack overhead!! I am fine with thunderstorms if I am outside, but strangely inside and I get scared??? Weird? Yes weird!

Oh the photo above? Torremolinos, sat down catching my breath, and trying to calm my beating heart! Look at that window - No room beyond, but the patio doors ajar.... LOL...

Now Tuesday... Hospital! We got there early, 20 minutes, and went straight up stairs to the heart department! Where I only had a five minute wait for the halter heart monitor to be put on... Then we went down to the Xray department, I was supposed to have my hip Xray at 12:15, one of the nurses said that was ok and to wait, so I did! Terri left me there to get another appointment for me... and I went in in about 5 minutes! And found Terri about to get my other appointment settled, wrong place, so we went in search of the right place, oh and earlier we had got my blood test number from the machine, was about 80 people ahead of me, so we knew we had plenty of time.... I have to have another EKG and they are still doing them from 2010, so not sure I will get one before May 3rd!!! [Small miracle required please! Thank you!] Then back to the blood place[!] and we sat outside the area, but where we could still hear and see the numbers slowly clicking by, about 45 minutes I think.... And then in I went, and it was great, well maybe not great, but fine, no bruising, no pain and you can't even see I have had a test done now! Unlike the last one, with the bruising running up my arm which took two weeks to clear!

And so we were out, almost before my last appointment should have been!

Yesterday, had to take the halter monitor back! It had to be back by 9:30am for someone else to use, so we left town about 8:30 and we were back and onto our next errand by 10am here in Alhaurín! We parked at the hospital easily enough, and I remembered the way to the department, a long walk, up stairs and along corridors... I had of course, only been there the day before, but only the once... I found it fine! Brilliant!

And we were in and out in 5 minutes... Took longer for the doctor to get off the phone and tell me to take it off in an office nearby! I opened the door and a bloke was standing there! The day before when I was having it put on a bloke came into the room! Charming!!

Anyway, by 11am, we were at the garden centre having a coffee!! Good days work!

This morning was in the bar to begin, rain threatening, then outside when the chairs came out, and we moved when I started to get rained on, although it may have been an apartment overhead because, we moved under cover just when the sun came out!!!

The band is now playing, the rain cleared for now...

Rain today... Perfect! Maria is over for her hols, and look what happens! Poor girl, it always rains when she is over!!! Although all things considered, it does often rain in April, and more so for Samana Santa... [Easter week].. its just the norm, and as I have said before, its mucked up more than a few of the parades here in Alhaurín, the final day, the Crucifixion itself I think has gone without being held at all, and this is best day of the Semana Santa week, as I know I have said before, I wish I could work out how to get my Web Cam so that it could be openly live for that evening alone.... There must be a way, because I see lots of live feeds, just don't know how to do it!!!!

I have just tried a live broadcast through Twitter and posted also to fb, if it works ok, and if its not raining Friday evening I will broadcast the Samana Santa procession as it passes beneath the house on that evening.... all evening!

Should be fun, I felt a bit embarrassed trying it out, I know you may not be my friends on fb, so if you want to check out the broadcast I guess you can on my Twitter as you see down there on the right, on my Twitter feed I am @Manisavane, so follow me to see it! If you want to see it that is! This will be the sixth year, and still it is amazing.... if your not religious? Its still amazing....

Other things... I have another hospital appointment tomorrow, or two! A heart monitor to wear for 24hrs, and a hip Xray later on in the day, with a visit to a vampire in between... oh sorry, not a vampire just a blood test person! And to make an appointment for another EKG... Somehow I have to have that fitted in between now and May 3rd for the results, hope I haven't left it too late, but the person who got the other appointments was told I would get a phone call for that one, and I haven't yet!!

And that reminds me, I will have a Greek yoghurt now, last thing I can eat until after the blood test, I will be hungry by then! And very weak, hope I don't get another headache, had a bad one all day yesterday, ended up taking a migraine med and going to bed early... It worked, gone this morning! Going so long without food won't help though that's forsure!
Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.

Be Love.
Nothing more,
nothing less ...
For Love is All that IS.

Every person, and every thing, around you
is an energetic reflection of some aspect of
your inner state of being.

Choose to BE Love and watch the world
transform, amaze, delight and inspire!

===============================

The Heart accepts without limitations,
it is open to all things,
the small and the great,
the king and the beggar,
the bad and the good,
the precious pearl
and the insignificant pebble on the beach,
the tiny acorn and great oak tree,
the dancer and the dance,
the visible and the invisible,
the lover and The Beloved.

The Heart does not differentiate,
it does not take sides,
t does not see opposites,
it sees no separation,
it is One with all things,
it embraces all things as One,
there are not many hearts,
there is only One Heart
and that One Heart is the heart
that dwells within your own breast.

Wonderful day today, went to the Picasso Museum in Malaga.. Never been before, never been passed it nor down the streets around it! Been to the Alcazaba, seen the newly unearthed [er, well 1951!!!!] Roman Amphitheatre in front of the walls of the above... And then just five minutes from there is the Picasso Museum! Wish I had known it was there before... or maybe not..... Back briefly to the amphitheatre... One visit to Malaga, I think with Mom, maybe 10 years ago, we saw the theatre being unearthed, so it was a long journey from 1951 to then! I assure you!! And then the condition of the site now, as in, all there, all uncovered now!

They have a temporary display of another artists work... [in the museum] I won't name names... but honestly? I have seen better, sorry, and all that but I really have.... I shall say no more than that, and as 'they' say everyone to their own!

Wonderful weather too, parked in a car park I didn't know, much more convenient for that part of the old town, must remember for when visitors are over... And only a short walk to our destination...

Lots of tourists, mostly Italian! Lovely to hear their language, I was trying to understand them, but that was pretty much a no go! I was remembering the Linguaphone course I sent off for, well my Mom did, I was only 11! And it was just before we went off to Italy for the Grand Tour! I learnt how to introduce my family... on the record... in Italian, German and French!!!!

Had coffee and coisant almost as soon as we got there, then had another cafe in another place! Then after the Museo Picasso we had a cool beer in a big square near the amti theatre... That went down very well! We were played to first by a guy with an accordion, then another, on something else, [can't remember what its called, memory of a fish!]

There was a guitarist playing on the street of the Picasso museum, he looked like he was from another era, sitting there playing away, nice music too, and on our return, sitting opposite in a door way, listening to his music, a couple of girls... trying to look cool, shame about the cigarettes in their hands!

The more we give, the more we are open to receive.
If our minds, hearts and hands are full of the past,
it is difficult to fully receive the gift of the present.

moondance van morrison

Oooop, been a while hasn't it amigos!

Too long to go back over? No, that would make this a very short Blog post, and I don't do short!

Lets explain the photos first! The shot above is of the, or one of the, oldest Moorish towers in the area... Its at Finca La Mota. On the outskirts of Alhaurín el Grande...

I took both above photos from a friends roof terrace... So one above is also a view I have never seen before, from this angle at least, of the Sierra de Mijas.... until a couple of months ago I didn't even know the tower existed!!!

Which is much the same for these next two photos, above and beneath! We went up to the top of La Trocha building.... above the cinema, above the gym, to the top floor.... where there is a bar!!! And buena vistas!!! oh and tennis courts!

Coín as seen from La Trocha, and below, Alhaurín.... in the distance, I see the top of La Trocha from the roof terrace and now here we were looking back!

It was a bit windy up there! I had been having a few Marilyn Munroe moments already down stairs with all the up drafts, it was a nightmare up on the roof! lol...

Now what else has been occuring! Trips to Torremolinos, again! La Cala market, again! Today, I walked up the flights of stairs from the paseo at Bajondillo all the way up to C/San Miguel in Torremolinos! Heck, only supposed to walk on the flat, but I made it! Had to stop for a cuppa in a bar at the top! It was busy, the shops, the streets, lots of tourists, which is good to see, at last!

The weather was a bit poor, yesterday was hot as... as a hot thing, today, was supposed to be hot and clear skied, but was very cloudy, and hung low over the mountains, it didn't rain, I didn't think it would, but was a bit cooler down on the coast than up here for sure, and once back here the sun was hot, and little clouds only... much better!

I had a call from the hospital on Friday and have an appointment change, having an Xray tomorrow now at the hospital, and the others still next Tuesday... maybe they thought too many Xrays on one day! So today I had to call into my day leader to let her know I would be off for the next two Tuesdays at work, bit rough that isn't it! The only day I work, and these appointments are both on Tuesdays!!! Bet they cut my wages... [ah ok, I know, I don't get paid, just kidding!]

Feel like I have so much more to tell.... Boardroom meetings all going well, hall passes collected by those of us having away days!

Feel a poem coming on, or a piece of music..... ok, just up loaded Van the man, Morrison for the music... and here is a wonderful poem that's just come up on my fb page... Perfect timing of course!

The tree of love its roots hath spread
Deep in my heart, and rears its head;
Rich are its fruits: they joy dispense;
Transport the heart, and ravish sense.
In love's sweet swoon to thee I cleave,
...Bless'd source of love . . .

For those of you who read my fb and Twitter this photo will be a bit old hat by now! Sorry!

We have so many beautiful feria dresses for sale in Cudeca I just had to try one on! My favourite was sold last week, may have mentioned that? A lady wanted to hang it on her wall, didn't fit her, she just wanted it! But these dresses need to be worn don't you think? Wants the point of having a dress like this if you don't wear it, and show it off!

It fitted... and breathing would become a problem if you did too much of it, in it! No, it was ok, just actually, although I think eating wouldn't have happened... before putting it on, and its not lightweight either... but still, even after all that, it felt wonderful wear, I loved it!

Back on the rack now though by the way folks!

Something funny happened last week, couldn't tell at the time, or the surprise would have been out of the bag!

A friend and I bought a lovely sponge cake... cream and jam filling, for another friends birthday... The first friend had taken the cake and put it in his freezer, last week, two days before said birthday, he says "Mmmm wonderful sponge cake I had the other day, took it out of the freezer, let it defrost, I ate half in one sitting!!" me on the other side of the table, was flabbergasted! I thought, he's eaten the birthday cake, I couldn't really say much, or I would have given the surprise away! Although his son sitting next too him could see I was off about something to do with the cake! We had to buy another Saturday! This one I brought home, to my freezer.... just in case!

The birthday was actually a few days before... but no cake!!!!

Then yesterday, I was rushing about trying to get down to the boardroom but the universe was throwing one obstacle at me after another... and I was worried that I would be there after, the friend whose birthday the cake was for, got there before me! Was ok though, and I went into the bar and asked if we could eat it there primarily, then asked to leave it in there first! Yes and yes!

Then.... phew, clock building here, sorry! There was a temporary boardroom visitor, smoking us out! So when our friend arrived, we moved to another bar! I had to collect the cake, and ask again about eating it somewhere else!

What a palaver! The cake was very much appreciated by the way, only, shame was the coffee was rubbish where we went!

After work today went to meet up with a friend who is visiting for her holidays, her grand daughter who I have known for... must be nearly six years, came to meet me from work, couldn't believe how much she has grown, a real young lady, and as tall as me now! Ok ok, so I'm not that tall, but you know what I mean... So it was up to the bar, and a coffee, and now they're off, and back home tonight!

No más para hoy... hasta luego amigos...

Thought it had been over a week since I posted last, but only a few days!?! Strange?! And above a shot in Torremolinos I took today, of all the scenes I took a photo of a tree you ask!

Well it was just sitting there by the restaurant while we had coffee, and its such a strange tree... Looked dead, but isn't, its normal state for this time of the year... Its an African tree, all I know which does have beautiful flowers on it later in the year... but look below at the zoomed in shot... those spikes down the trunk! Would be bad enough shimmying up it, but coming back down! ouch! Spike city!

Yes Torremolinos today! Was La Cala on Wednesday! What a giddy thing I am! Had a lovely day there today, plenty of room to park, drove right up to the Picasa roundabout, parked and walked back to roundabout.... to take photos, we spent a little while by the shops, then had our coffee's and croissant! Which is when I took the tree photos! We walked back to the car, then drove back down the beach road, parked and went into a Chiringuito on the beach... We had about 5 different plates, and just shared them, great thing to do, that way we could have lots of things, I suppose we were making out own tapas of sorts!

We went into the Malaga Carrefour supermarket.... Its so huge that place! Another coffee, then home!

Two friends of mine both had family out this week, and was lovely to be able to join them on a couple of excursions to the coast... Wednesday went to La Cala, good look around the market, was quite busy, lots of tourists which is good to see.... Then back into the town for a bite to eat and a coffee or three! Decaf para mi por supuesta!

We then walked along the beach quite a way to burn up the food! They were digging up the exit from the river to get it to go straight into the sea rather than amble round the beach... We walked back along the road, back to the car, and stopped over at the garden centre on the way back to Alhaurín....

And yesterday I went to a friends house for lunch, relaxing in the garden and chilling out, in the hot sun! Came home, went up onto the terrace, propped the temperature gauge up in full view of the sun.... It fell off later, but not before it read 44ºC.... I hadn't actually noticed that it had broken and picked it up right where what was left of the glass was... then that was in my thumb! Great!

Actually, it was Wednesday the gauge broke! Not yesterday! Good memory!

Well the winnings tonight on the Euromillions will be less, but no matter, it is going to be enough!! Plans are afoot for spending!

Listening to Rod Stewart's Great American Songbook.... I'm hooked....

Well talking about positive thinking drawing things to you you want!

Was talking the other day, and I know I have mentioned the book I lost[loaned to a friend], Forever by Mildred Cram 1889-1985, well today, in the shop, I was demonstrating a problem we have with the way the books are placed at the moment there... I reached out without looking, held a book as if to pull out... looked back to see above books falling had I pulled out this one beneath.... and I had my hand on the above book! I couldn't believe it! I almost shouted, well I did do a sharp intake of breath! Unbelievable! My missing book, well not actually mine, but the same, and now I have it again, and this one wont be leaving my sight!

In case you wondered, well probably not, but the book is out of print... so getting another copy wasn't easy!

I actually wore a skirt today... Summer is here, although first friend I saw told me rain was expected today! And it did, but not much, and not for long... and afterwards, warm beautiful sun, was up on the terrace until half hour ago, watching the sun setting over the mountain... And it looks like sun for the rest of the week, maybe skirt again tomorrow!!

Had a meeting yesterday at work, it was day leaders, but I was asked to stand in for mine, then I ended up taking the minutes too! Pat said "can you take the minutes Marian?" I said, "what write?" Bit of an airhead moment I know, but funny none the less! Bit like Saturday with the locker key! Think I need to change the color of my hair!!! lol...

Funny walking Pippa in the dark again now... the birds don't seem to have noticed its dark though now... No, what I mean is, they were tweeting at the old 6:30am, but now, even at the new 7am, they're up and about making a racket!

Auntie Linda's funeral tomorrow, Wednesday 2pm BST.... Can't believe she has gone, so suddenly, seems unreal... And now I won't ever go back to where her and Mom lived....

Ok battery going, going to go now..

I'm a ding bat! I completely got the Euromillions results information wrong this morning! In my haste to see if we won, apart from seeing what we did win... not very much, by the way, I thought more people had won the jackpot than was true! It was only later adding it up, the way I thought the winnings had gone, it just didn't make any sense at all! All irrelevant of course, as it wasn't us!

At the Boardroom this morning we were a melancholy lot, thoughts of our plans for the 133 millions, dashed, momentarily.. The sun was having trouble pushing past the clouds hanging around! A drop of rain, just the one!

So much to remember this evening, lights out at 8:30pm around the world, for Earth Hour... Then clocks go forward an hour overnight!

Not sure if I will remember to actually do any of these things... I got all the way home this morning to find I still had the locker key to a locker in Mercadona! Great, I had their key, they had my duck eggs! So a couple of hours later, I headed back into town, to retrieve them! Only plus side was I was able to pick up a little more from the store I couldn't carry earlier, and stopped for té with two neighbours who were down at Bar Cruz, second visit of the day! This time, by the way, the sun was out, it had been for an hour or more, and stayed that way till now, its setting over the Sierra de las Nieves!

I watched a whole series on DVD today, Desperate Romantics, six episodes in all! Sounds like a long haul but it wasn't, it was brilliant, great to see in its entirety, I only watched bits of the first two episodes when it was out a couple of years ago, so glad to have got to see it now... I had a break for my trip to town this afternoon, and another hours break later on for some things I wanted to do.

Apart from leaving the duck eggs in Mercadona, I feel I am missing more...

Above the Alcazaba in Malaga...

Thursday today, already! I don't know where this week has gone, flying into the past without pausing for the present! Only that's not true, with my new positive thinking, everyday has felt like a present!

Tuesday, work, cold, windy, little sun, we were all cold at the Boardroom before I left for work, and spent the morning shivering, we all did! Even the 11:30 coffee wasn't hot enough for any of us!

I'm not sure if this machine is on a go slow or is just too slow to keep up with me these days, not sure what I need to do to clean it up and get moving, I am clicking back to change things, or correct typos and the new stuff comes out in the completly wrong place! Arh!!!

Wednesday, yesterday, weather still not great, looked like rain, but three of us had plans at the coast, [well two of us, and our plans became plans for all three of us!] so after brief meeting at Bar Cruz, off we went! Down to Calahonda, small diversion on the way, and to El Zoco, coffees at the sports bar where I used to do my Blog last year when we were staying down at the coast, that awful machine, with that awful music, still makes my stomach churn hearing that tune.... Funny how a piece of music, a taste, a smell can be so evocative of a past memory, good or bad...

We were up and down all the stairs in El Zoco looking for a special shop... I had gone into it earlier, not realising it was the store we were looking for! Anyway, found it! Then my errand further up the road, we decided to walk there... felt a long way yesterday, and the road noise seemed so loud! I needed a code to get where I wanted to go, didn't have it, but luckily some kind person let me in! Then we went to a beach bar for some lunch, not too many people there, we sat inside, for obvious reasons [weather], the food was wonderful, beautiful glass of wine, and the three of us had a great time... Then we had to walk back for the car! Phew, I was exhausted, we were going to go to Iceland, but decided we would leave that for next week! Maybe minus the glass of red wine?

And to today! Hot, hot, everyone over dressed! Went with a friend to La Trocha, don't understand how that place stays open, hardly anyone in there! Supermarket empty, stalls only just opening, shops empty, or closed! Had coffee and apple strudel! The best apple strudel in the world!

Just checked out the weather for tomorrow, looking good folks, looking good!

[looks for a poem]Hate it when I am in poetic mood and cannot find the words I seek in... Oh coincidence, as I write this very bit, my youngest son's Twitter popped up on here... His words? he is talking about words! Just as I am right now! But this isn't helping me much is it! And I am giving up on the site I was looking at! and I will now have to leave you wanting!

Duffy -- Syrup & Honey

Its a chilly day today! Was under-dressed this morning in town! Cold hands, and the rest! Luckily I had boots on, or my toes would have been blue too! I am still cold, in the house, think I shall have to go to bed early this evening, make camp in the bedroom!

Yesterday, La Trocha market, busy, lots of people selling, maybe some buying! Day was lovely, beautiful sunny, warm, a gift of a day.... It began with me at last seeing the 'super moon', although I hear it actually happens every 4 to 6 years by someone on Twitter, although the popular theory is it won't happen again until 2060! Well good job I got to see it this time round, I say....

Saturday evening, I was running up and down stairs to wait for it to make it to the town hall, I got to see it before it disappeared again, between neighbours house and the above! Ten o'clock finally... there it was! And I didn't have to climb up, yet again, on a wobbly plastic chair, looking like a loony bird!

But in the morning, better, for me than the night before, on the day of the equinox, there hovering above Las Deslcias... and El Dorado...

[to break into my thoughts, just now, listening to James Blunt, as I do, gone from a track I love, to another I love, but this second one is so sad, so thought provoking, I am having to play it again! Just to upset myself again!]

and El Dorado... [from previous paragraph], the Super Moon, I saw it first from the car park, then as Pip and I came round to the park, it was nearer the mountains and sinking so fast I stood and watched it, as it dipped down, filling the space where two mountains meet, the white glow, falling down between them, until it looked like a huge star, then, gone! As if it were never there...

Glad I got to see it...

I watched a movie I hadn't seen for over 25 years this afternoon, Cabaret... Fantastic, Liza Minnelli, all that time, and I still remember it almost word for word, I must have watched it many times when I had the video!

Been away again! Did you miss me! Had to fix something! Franco had got locked out of his email account! Fixed it!

An hour or so before I watched the movie, one of the women from work popped in, on her way into town for lunch, had a cup of coffee and a quick tour of the house, very quick of course, it being dolls house size!! And she bought me a beautiful bunch of flowers from her garden, the last of her freesias! Lovely... thank you...

Ok, too cold to type, going to make some dinner, oh.... the 105 million Euros in the Euromillion on Friday...? Our syndicate, won, a four figure amount, just those four figures had the decimal point after just two, and either way you look at it, that wasn't a lot!

Today, replacing sad memories with glad ones... then my cousin called me to tell me Auntie Linda has passed away, in the early hours of this morning...

The photo above is the castle in the town, where my Italian Grand parents came from Quaglietta..

Well I am on a go slow here am I not! Been a week again nearly and saying so makes me feel like Groundhog day! I am repeating myself on each Blog!

Saturdays weather was wonderful, was hot sitting outside Bar Cruz, beautiful day... Sunday was a mix of sun and showers and now my Blog is turning into a weather report, and who wants to know what the weather has been? No one, just means I have run out of words...

Friday our syndicate won a little on the Euromillions, a very little, not even enough for another weeks lottery! And if we win the big one, Friday is 105 million Euros! I won't be mentioning it on here... I guess the things I say I have been doing might give my game away???

Sunday was quiet, just walked Pippa and did nothing much else actually! Monday down town, sat inside bad weather is all I shall say! Got soaked going to Mercadona after bar, it did stop by the time I got home, a friend was round for a cuppa, and about 2:30, a lightening flash and clap of thunder came together the power went off and the sky was black, my friend made a run for it to get back to hers.... she got wet! The rain came down in sheets, so heavily as I sat watching it from upstairs on the floor... with Pippa sat with me, the rain came down hit our street and was being forced up hill in waves by the pressure of more following it down! A stream of water was coming off our terrace like a hose pipe was on!

Then it was gone, and past....

And Tuesday beautiful, really is spring showers... Work was great, we had a very profitable morning, probably took more money in our store than any other in town! Then after work the five us were at one of their homes having a nice lunch, just out of town... lovely sat outside, but under a canopy thingy covered with flowers... they have a lovely garden with a small pagoda[?] with wonderful chimes, not those shrill ones, like we have! But a beautiful muted sound, deep and, well, just lovely!

She has beautiful cream fresias growing in the garden, of which she gave me a stem, they're in a small vase and smelling sweetly... amongst loads of other flowers and plants etc...

It has quite a lot of land and they're moved into town soon... bet they will miss their garden though, made me yearn for one again, grass, trees, flowers.... If we started digging our terrace the only things we would find are our bedrooms and bathroom!

Anyway, was a lovely couple of hours and was good to have a chance to talk and sit and relax without customers interfering!!!

Today, was lovely sat outside the bar, we were all over-dressed, which means tomorrow, we will all be under-dressed!!!

The last episode of Being Human has come and gone! Its a cult series, aparently, and I am missing it already, the third series, its about a warewolf, a vampire and a ghost, all sharing a house, well of course, why not!

Heroes, which I also love, has been gone for far too long, seems like well over a year... not sure when it finished... I just remember shouting at the tv when it did, as I wasn't expecting it!!

My Auntie Linda isn't well, she is in hospital, Watford General, oh what a familiar place to me that is.... She fell and broke her hip, she is 92, and not taking it well now, please say a prayer for her....

And on that note, Pippa is telling me its time for me to start my dinner! She is, honestly, she wines and nudges me to get up and go to the kitchen, she is a good time keeper! Just not a great conversationist!

Here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud And the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows Higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) And this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart).

Been nearly a week since my last post... Not even sure why... ! Lets retrace my steps shall we!

Saturday, to town, of course, sat inside with friend, was a bit blowy out side! I had already picked up our syndicate winnings... not a lot, but we won, and that's the important thing... and once outside back into the lottery shop and friend also won! Way to go!!

Just realised I have a bite... the sort of weather for it, hope its not a mosquito bite! I have 'removed' two from the house in past two days! One was massive, he was hanging about in the bathroom waiting for me, but I saw him first!

Now I just need to not scratch the bite... I already have a flare up from eating something with MSG in it, although my face is telling me, I have eaten several things, that's the trouble, when I'm not having a flare up I can eat some things, that just have 'thickeners' or 'flavourings' or.. one of many 'other' words for MSG, I have definitely not eaten anything that actually says MSG, so I must have overdosed on one of the others... So of course that is my fault, and I am suffering, so itchy and stingy, eyes feel just the same!

Sunday, was a quiet day... just a bit of pottering about the place, after walking Pippa, of course!

I think Monday was 'normal', shall we say! and Tuesday was work as normal too! I gave back a book I had borrowed from a friend the Tuesday before, read it in a week, and now want my own copy...

I was already feeling lots more positive, after the bad Monday from a couple of weeks ago, but reading this book, has just so inspired me even more! A friend came round the other day, and I think she thought I was having a nervous breakdown! I was almost hysterical with happiness! Hopefully that's not the case.... But I have definitely turned myself about, regarding how I am feeling, about the way we're struggling just now, the huge death duty tax that has to be paid.... etc etc... Bills will get paid, in a year the tax will be paid, and my health is getting better, although I should be saying my health IS better! Just have to get rid of the rash again now!! ;-)

I am thinking happier thoughts now of Mom, knowing she is happy where she is now, as everyone has said, time and again, it took those 'again's' for me to hear you, thank you, you know who you are!

We had lots of rain yesterday, a friend and I went down to Fuengirola yesterday, did a few things we needed doing, and back home, was about 2:30pm, I was shattered! And soaked through!

I bought my usual Shredded Wheat, 5.11€... how much is it in England now! That sounds extortionate to me! Has wheat gone up that much! And 3 Cadbury's flakes for a euro.... haven't eaten any of them yet!

I have been cooking some strange things... dinner has been kind of normal, but so fed up with one plain yoghurt after another, there were the apple dumplings last week, this week, banana cake[!] apple crumble, apple thing with meringue... [I want to spell that Merangue, but spell check says I am wrong!!!]

Today I got to town, we were even sitting outside the bar, but then the rain started, so we went our separate ways... Me to Mercadona, to carry a too heavy bag back home, once again, that's the trouble with those little pull along baskets, pulling, and carrying are two different things! Of course they are!!

I also stopped off to buy some paint[???], we have had an area on a wall in our bedroom which is still badly stained from the terrible damp we had this time last year, when there had been rain from December to March! I must have painted over that area half a dozen times, and the paint just wouldn't stay there, sounds strange, it wasn't running down the wall, or evaporating! Just seemed to sink in and then disappear! As if by magic! So, after hearing another idea, that's what I am trying, coming at it from a completely different angle... I bought some spray paint, not because it was spray, but for the color... I have gone off on my own path here, should have been more of a silver color, aluminium really, but not Hammerite.... just that color, well I couldn't find any, and grey just didn't seem right!

So I have sprayed the area bronze.... looks more like gold at the moment! And so, for now, and for today and until tomorrow there is a load of bronze spray paint on our way, like some crazy has gone and put graffiti on the wall, no signature though!

Tomorrow I will paint the area white, to match the rest of the wall, of course, might take two coats, as the bronze is rather.... well bronzy!

If you know what I have done and why... that's cool, if you know why it will work.... Please, please tell me!

[of course, if it hasn't worked, you will hear about it for sure!]

I think that's me for today! Its so cold in here I can see my breath!

Well amigos, so the world has turned, a year has passed... I cannot believe it is so, I am writing this Thursday, yesterday. It is really today I feel it is a year ago since Mom passed away, it was Thursday March 4th... I feel I am reliving every hour from last year and its only mid afternoon so far... I bought Mom in some beautiful daffodils, in the shop it said two for one pound! I picked up two bunches, got to Moms by about 10am and realised there were two bunches in each packet! Can't remember now if I only paid for one or both, I remember the girl at the cash desk was confused as well! I bought some beautiful blackberries, well hoped they would be tasty, they were from Ecuador, and didn't taste like any blackberries I had ever tasted before, and not in a good way!

Anyway, I shan't repeat everything that I know I have already written from a year ago, or I shall go into melt down...

... and maybe I should leave this here, don't know what to do, feeling empty, and a lost little girl... my hand held out to be held and led...

Let me talk about today instead, as this is where I am now... let me drag myself here! This morning, felt cooler, and after last night which was also colder, was good to be out in the sun, then the cloud came over the Sierra de Mijas, and settled there while I was still out, I carried a few heavy things back from Mercadona, so that heated me up coming back up the hill! At the boardroom this morning, we had a couple of guests... A couple who live here from Liverpool, they know the road well where my Granddad was born in Rice Lane... Oh and I have more news too! What am I thinking! I am in such a sad place I nearly forgot to tell you fantastic news! To add to our growing family of newly found cousins in England, and here in Spain [wish they were nearer!], I have found more cousins in Canada, yep, me, I did it!! Felt like I was stalking the person first, on Twitter, an in-law of a cousin, then after a few weeks I gathered myself together and thought, might as well write to her, if she isn't in our family, then I am wasting time wondering if she is!!! So I sent an email, and she forwarded it to a cousin, and yes yes yes!!!! What an amazing ride since November last year, when I was found, thank you Emma and Ancestry.com

Moms last request to find the family.... I have, and am, fulfilling, something I really never believed I could ever do... I hope she knows, I believe she does, in fact, I think she has helped to make it happen! I mean, how else after all these years of trying????

Ok this is getting a bit mixed up and confusing, bit like how I feel just now...And I am trying to more positive, I really am, and is positively not helping...

So this is it for now, and I will copy and paste this tomorrow, no words tomorrow, only thoughts and prayers...

It is still Thursday and I have opened this up again to write some more... a friend who lives nearby called me quarter hour ago, and I went down to the bottom on my road, which meets the bottom of her road, she gave me a plateful of freshly made lasagne... I brought it home, plated it up, and enjoyed every wonderful mouthful of it! Thank you amiga... meals on wheels? Nope meals on foot I think... Funny we were both wearing our slippers, well fluffy boots, its colder today remember!I looked a bit dishevel'd, my hair a mess, and I think a hint of mascara a little further down my face than it should have been!

Pippa, of course, enjoyed some, but only a little!

I have been playing the Phantom of the Opera, for me, on behalf of Mom... Every single time I do play it, which actually hasn't been for quite a while, maybe six months, I can visualise Mom and I there, in Her Majesty's Theatre in London, our front row view from the Royal circle! Well where else would be have sat! Mom loved it, I loved it! And when I go and see the follow up, 'Love never dies'... I hope Mom is with me in spirit...

Anyway... after eating my lovely and so unexpected dinner, I turned back to here, to Tweet and fb, and to add to here of course, as I Tweeted though, the Tweet below was from 'Love Never Dies', which was a coincidence of course, as was the one that came up immediately after my Twitter, it was from Eurostar[Paris trip with Mom]... So yes, of course I follow them, so that's why their Tweets came up, but at that moment? While I am playing the CD? Oh ye of little faith!

Okay... I'm done! For now amigos... unless something else strange happens before I get to post this Blog in the morning of course???

Of course something did... A friend sent me this wonderful piece below... I have deleted all the quotes I had prepared earlier. They are nothing in comparison to this... I cried when I read it, and will again I know...

I will be surprised if you don't shed a tear....

If tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
So much yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.

When GOD looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne,
He said "This is eternity,
And all I've promised you."
Today for life on earth is past,
But here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
And since each day's the same way
There is no longing for the past.

But you have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true.
Though there were times you did some things,
You knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven,
And now at last you are free.
So won't you take my hand.
And share my life with me?

So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we are far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.

And now it is tomorrow, March 4th, and I feel its Groundhog day, I feel today, as I felt yesterday, only its pouring outside, thunder and lightening, now that's Mom forsure!
